All About Me
My name is Katlin Nelson, although most of my friends and family call me Katie. I was born in Laguna Hills California but was raised in Denver Colorado and moved to Texas in December 2007. I am 27 years old, and I am a mother of 3 wonderful handsome boys. My oldest Noah is 9, my middle Carter is 7, and my youngest Waylon is 4 weeks old. I am freshly engaged to be married to my knight in shining armor (it's a little dented lol), Austin. We are planning our wedding for the year 2022 to give us enough time to calmly pull it together.
I am currently working on my prerequisites for a Bachelors in Nursing. I have quite a few classes to go before I can officially start the nursing program, but slow and steady wins the race. Being a mother of 3 boys fills up a lot of my day, even though my oldest two are in school. I have not made a final decision on what specialty I will choose but, I am leaning towards labor and delivery or trauma/emergency room. I have always dreamed of being in the medical field, ever since I was a little girl I have said I wanted to be a doctor.
Besides school and my little family, my life is pretty simple. I like to spend as much time as possible with my family. I have two brothers, one step-sister, three step-brothers, and a half-brother. My two brothers and my step-sister all just had babies in the last 6 months. The grandparents got their dream of more grandbabies, we all had boys 6 months apart. My extended family life can be a little complicated, but in the end, family is always worth it.
Overall this semester has gone pretty well for me. I chose to take only two classes because I was pregnant and knew that around the time of finals I would have a newborn baby. I chose US History 1 and Ethics. I would have to say that I prefer ethics over history by a long shot. I love history when I watch it on TV or hear about it on a radio show, but I am not into it when it comes to reading.
This class has been really informative, I feel like I have a different outlook on day-to-day life now. I tend to find myself questioning what kind of ethical theory a scenario relates to. I never knew that so much goes into making a decision until this class, and how those decisions are categorized into different ethical theories.
